Borghamns Stenf\u00f6r\u00e4dling was founded in 1951 by father and son Oskar and Ola Ericsson. Today, more than 70 years later, the company is run by third and fourth-generation business leaders.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Borghamns Stenf\u00f6r\u00e4dling – Through the Years<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
\n

It all began in 1951 when Oskar and his son Ola Ericsson purchased a relative’s farm on the outskirts of Borghamn. Kalle-Lasse, as he was known, had grown tired of farming and sold the property to his relatives. Shortly after the purchase, the company received its first major order: the reconstruction of \u00c5nestaskolan in Link\u00f6ping.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A few years later, Oskar passed away, leaving Ola Ericsson to manage the company on his own. Mats-Ola Ericsson<\/strong>, Ola and Karin Ericsson’s son<\/strong>, began working at the company at a young age and, like his father, earned a master’s certificate in stonemasonry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 1993, Borghamns Stenf\u00f6r\u00e4dling acquired the Ox\u00e5ker quarry in Kolm\u00e5rden, allowing them to resume quarrying of Kolm\u00e5rden Marble, a long-discontinued material. However, it would take many years for the demand for this classic green marble to pick up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A generational change occurred in 1997 when Ola Ericsson <\/strong>handed over the company to his son, who began running it alongside his wife, Ann Ericsson<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As the company continued to develop, another generation joined the ranks. After spending several years on a different path, Tim Ericsson<\/strong> returned home to become part of the business. He quickly earned his master’s certificate in stonemasonry and, with a focus on digitalization, invested in new machines that propelled the company forward.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Several years later, it was time for another generational transition, and Mats-Ola’s daughter, Kajsa Ericsson<\/strong>, joined the company after studying Industrial Economics and gaining experience in the business consulting sector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Today, the company is run by Mats-Ola, Tim, and Kajsa, who share the goal of quarrying and refining Swedish natural stone for both large and small customers.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n
