Where modern technology meets traditional craftsmanship
A modern stonemason can work just like artisans did in the past, utilizing traditional hand tools. In our stonemason workshop, we create a wide range of products, from hand-hewn edges on countertops to tooth-hewn ashlars that enhance the facades of historic buildings.
Our stonemasons are skilled craftsmen with extensive professional experience. We manage everything from special orders for private customers to complex restoration projects in historic structures.

History of the stonemasonry profession
Stonemasonry is an art practiced since ancient times. This profession was once common, but after industrialization, it has become a craft reserved for highly skilled practitioners.
Stonemasonry as a profession has largely remained unchanged from the Middle Ages into the 20th century. From the mid-19th century until the 1920s, stonemasonry was one of the most common professions in southern Sweden. The work was often physically demanding, involving tools such as chisels, drills, and sledgehammers. This profession, often passed down through generations, has developed into an art that requires exceptional skill—skills whose results we can still appreciate today.
The stonemason’s job begins where the quarry workers’ responsibilities end, involving the processing of raw rock broken down into smaller pieces. Initially, the stonemason carefully interprets the customer’s drawings, after which the natural stone is polished and shaped. Whether creating stairs, artworks, or bowls, the stonemason dedicates countless hours of focused effort to fulfill the customer’s vision.
Like in the past, the work of a stonemason today demands immense professional skill. Our stonemasons bring years of experience to the table, striving to bring the customer’s ideas to life. You can see their craftsmanship in various projects, from restorations to stunning works of art. Do you want unique details in Swedish limestone for your staircase, or a beautiful marble bowl for your wedding day? Is there a piece of art from Drottningholm Palace that you dream of having at home? Whatever your wishes or ideas, our stonemasons work diligently by hand to create exactly what you desire.

Master stonemason
Two of our stonemasons are qualified as master stonemasons. A master’s certificate signifies that an individual has fully mastered the craft and possesses the necessary knowledge to operate a business.
To obtain a master’s certificate, the following requirements must be met:
1. Accumulate at least 10,000 working hours in the industry.
2. Complete training in leadership and entrepreneurship.
3. Create an acorn out of stone using only hand tools, following a specified drawing.
The test is reviewed and approved by the examination board of the Swedish Stone Industry Association.
